A Personal Post and Some Family Friendly Videos

Darren - my son                                     Cody

Lately, I've been gone quite a bit taking our son (age 19) to his doctor appointment - I'm actually at one right now as this is posting.  About 5 years ago, he was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and put on medication to help combat the symptoms.  Unfortunately, while they did allow him some relief, he still struggled with moderate to severe pain daily.  BUT, he never shows that, he is always, smiling, laughing and joking around!  Shortly after being diagnosed, he even participated in a triathlon.  He loves to run and bike, but as time has gone on, he just couldn't do those things anymore.  And, if he misses just one does of medicine, he can barely walk.  It's been heart wrenching for me to watch and not be able to make him better.

About a month ago, he was given a new diagnosis - ankylosing spondylitis, he has a type of spinal arthritis that is also in his hips, knees and chest.  Over time, AS can do quite a bit of damage to the body, even effecting breathing and eye sight.  We HATE this diagnosis, but the good news is he now has a medication that has him feeling 100% PAIN FREE!!  He's had almost 2 weeks of feeling great - he even went on a run in the freezing cold!

We are praying for A.S. to not cause any further damage and for this medication to keep him feeling good without negative side effects.

This son, is my middle child - the clown, the peacemaker, and just all around GREAT kid!!  He keeps all of us laughing and I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am God sent us someone to infuse fun into everything we do!!  :)

He and his friend, Cody, have started making Youtube video and I am so excited to share his fun sense of humor with all of you!  They have a long list of ideas for upcoming videos and I can't wait to see what is in store for them!  These videos will most likely appeal to your teen or tween kids, but you will probably get a kick out of them as well.  :)

Friends, thanks for listening to our struggles and also celebrating in this season of hopefulness.  I appreciate you so very much!

Here are the videos, in order:
